Great athlete and later became a Deputy with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Left behind a beautiful daughter, brother to Diane and Jim Shannon. Dan passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Dan was a selfless gentleman and when he became ill, and knew he could no longer work the streets as a Deputy, Dan cared enough for his fellow deputies and the public, to remove himself from working the streets, and face his illness. He grew into a man of integrity and awesome father.
