Scott Poet remians in my memory as one of the sweetest guys I ever met.  One day in third grade I played him in tetherball at recess.  The game was heated and went beyond the recess bell, which we were required to freeze when it rang.  Scot and I would not quit the game.  It cost me the next recess to stand on the wall for my punishment, but was SO worth it to win that game.  I use this story when talking to my students. Some goals are worth the price they require.  Scott was a good friend through the years and I loved being in Trojaniares with him.  What a wonderful young man!

Yes, I agree Scott was a great guy. I was devastated to hear of his death. I named my first son Scotty and he died playing football at age 16 at Chino High. He was a sweetie also.

I was sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I remember Scott as being genuine. He was one of those people who was nice to everyone.

This site says Scott's year of death is unknown, but I'm certain we lost him in 1976.

Not sure of the year, but he died in a boating accident not too long after we graduated. He had married his high school sweetheart and they had a young child.

Scott was the life of the party and  could make me smile no matter what my mood.  Sadly, his joyful being was taken from all so us far to soon.  He was involved in a boating accident after spending the the day helping his best friend move.  My best friend married Scott's best friend a week after his memorial service in July of 1976. He was a father, husband, son , friend and left a huge hole in many other hearts at his passing.

Scott died the summer after we graduated.  Really miss that guy....  Every time I hear the song you are the sunshine of my life it makes me said as that is the song he sang in trojannaires.
